In June, 2008, The CT Agricultural Education Foundation awarded two $1,000 scholarships this year to students that are in college or are college-bound and are pursuing a career in agriculture education or an agricultural related field.  Amy Beyer of Naugatuck, CT, is a member of the Woodbury FFA Chapter, class of 2008.  Amy believes that "teaching the next generation about the importance of agriculture is crucial to help saving the land."  Amy will attend the University of Connecticut in the fall, pursuing a degree in natural resources and a career in Agriculture Education.  Nathan Kallen of East Granby, CT, was also awarded a scholarship.  Nathan attended the Harris Agri-Science and Technology Center in Bloomfield, CT, and is also graduating this year.  Nathan's classes at Bloomfield FFA have brought him to love veterinary medicine, especially exotic animals.  Nathan will attend Clark University in Worcester, MA, this fall to pursue a degree in biochemistry or molecular biology and a career in Veterinary medicine.  These two students believe in the future of agriculture and each are working toward high goals.  They are well deserving recipients of the 2008 Connecticut Agricultural Education Foundation Scholarships and we wish them good luck in the fall.
